My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rusty is a cute little reddish brown purebred Dachshund who loves to go for walks and snuggle with his person. He is currently 7 years old and weighs 17 lbs. I came to Sumner County Animal Control and found an older woman sobbing in the lobby because she was so distraught about having to give up her two senior Dachshunds so I told her I would take them and find great homes for them. Rusty is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, microchipped and current on flea and heartworm prevention. Rusty would really love to be adopted with his best friend, Daffney, if possible. Rusty's adoption fee is $150 by himself or $300 for him and Daffney together. Rusty is housetrained and cratetrained. He would do best as an only dog unless he is adopted with Daffney as he gets jealous of his person. If you are interested in adopting this little sweetie, please email healingheartsrescue@hotmail.com. You can also call or text (615) 290-2454.

*Rusty is a special needs pup because he recently lost the use of his back legs due to a bulging disc on his back. He is currently on six weeks of bed rest and medications. He is improving and can use his back legs more and more. However, he will need to be adopted by someone who does not mind carrying him outside to potty and then back in again. Plus he will need ongoing vet care for the rest of his life. He recently had a senior blood panel which came back completely healthy.
