Ginny will be coming to our adoption event at Guilford Fair Grounds on October 8th and 9th from 10am - 4pm. A little information about Ginny...Hi! My name is Ginny and foster mom (FM) says I'm some sort of small, scruffy terrier mix and that I won't get any bigger at 15lbs (as of September 4) and about 2yo so I won't take up much room at all. I was on my own for a while and then thought I found a home with someone who would at least feed me even if I had to live outside . . . then I found myself being taken to the shelter and the lady told them she was "tired of feeding me". I was soooo scared but FM came and said she would help me find a forever home and talked real sweet and quiet with me. After just a short while, I started to trust her and now I am starting to believe her. While I am a little reserved around new folks, if you will just be a little patient with me I will reward you with a very small, soft kiss and my love and trust. FM says I'm a really good girl and that I get along with other dogs, ignore the cats, and don't have any accidents in my crate overnight. Event information....
We are open to the public from 10 am to 4 pm. All final decisions are made by the rescues not Homeward Bound volunteers. If you are interested in this dog or any of our dogs please go to www.homewardboundct.org (copy and paste in browser window) and see all of the dogs coming and also fill out an application). Please note that most of these dogs are not in Connecticut and will be arriving the day prior so it is most likely not possible for you to meet them prior to the event.
If you are a first time dog owner we may require a home visit prior to adoption.
If you rent or live in a condo we will require proof that you are able to have a dog. This could be a copy of the lease or condo agreement.
All the residents in the household must come to the event along with any dog in your home for a meet and greet with our trainers.
Per the request of the rescues we may limit adoptions to only Connecticut homes due to the distance and support we give them. This again is strictly the rescues decision and hope you will honor that.
We also require a follow up visit with all families within a couple of months after the adoption.
Since we know there are many questions, please realize we will answer questions of those who have filled out an application first.
Adoption Fee is no more than $385. All dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated to age and also micrcochipped.
If you have additional questions about our dogs feel free to contact us. Please understand that we are all volunteers and will try to get back to you as soon as possible. If it is close to our event we are very busy with pre-screening our applicants so please understand if we can't answer all your questions in a timely manner. Our goal is to make sure these dogs go to the best home possible.
