Fiona's Story...
Posted 9/22/16. Updated 1/29/17. Fiona is an very sweet Silky Terrier girl who came to us from a local shelter where she was dropped off by her owners because they could no longer take care of her. Little Fiona was quite ill when she arrived but after all necessary veterinary care and lots of TLC she recovered quite well and she is very happy. Fiona is very friendly and gets along fine with other dogs. She is very quiet and very well behaved - she is house trained and crate trained. Fiona loves to go for walks and she always wants to please her person. She does well during grooming and is overall very easy going. Fiona is on medication for a lower grade heart murmur and collapsing trachea. Both conditions are manageable and do not interfere with her daily activities. Feel free to contact us if you have questions about it. She LOVES to eat and she LOVES to chew on bully sticks! Fiona is about 8 years old and weighs about 12 lbs. For Fiona we would like a quiet home with no children under 12. Fiona is spayed, current on vaccinations, she tested negative for heartworm and is on heartworm/flea prevention. She also had her teeth cleaned. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl please fill out an adoption application on our web site (an application has to be filled out prior to setting up a meeting.) Fiona's adoption fee is $135.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Bloomington Silky Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Silky Terrier for sale in Bloomington, or seeking a Silky Terrier dog from a breeder in Bloomington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bloomington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bloomington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Silky Terrier breeders who help with Silky Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bloomington paves the way for another one to be saved.
