Hello! My name is Papaya. I am a 1-year-old, spayed female, beautiful, shorthaired all-black cat in need of a forever home. I am very friendly and sweet. I like people and enjoy being petted and loved. I'm also very playful. I love toys and playing with other kitties. I was rescued along with my sister Apple, who is a stunning shorthaired tortie kitty. We are good buddies and would love to find a home together. We are both litterbox trained and well behaved. Apple is the leader and I am the follower. I am just a little more cautious than Apple is, but it doesn't take me but a minute to work up the courage to venture out to meet the strangers. Then I fall in love pretty quick. I love people and I really enjoy companionship and affection - I just need someone to show me a little bit of patience. Sunday, September 25: Adoption Event at PetPeople, 6520 Telegraph Rd, Bloomfield Hills. From noon to 4 p.m. on the fourth Sunday each month, come meet adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens (as available - not all adoptable animals will be at every event). Event dates for 2016: September 25, October 23, November 27 and December 18.
Saturday, October 1: Adoption Event at Petco, 29335 Orchard Lake Rd, Farmington Hills (just south of 13 Mile Rd). From noon to 4 p.m., come meet adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens (as available - not all adoptable animals will be at every event). Adoption event dates for 2016: October 1, October 15, November 5, November 19, December 3 and December 17.
Adoption Process: Complete the application at
www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
