Facts about Duncan

  • Breed: German Shepherd Dog
  • Color: Black - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more
  • Sex: Male

Duncan is a six-year-old purebred German Shepherd Dog, who is very smart, attentive, and active. He walks fine on a leash with minimal pulling, though he may try to see what he can get away with. Duncan lives with other dogs, but prefers to play with toys and people. He willingly goes to his crate, and behaves perfectly there. He does require someone who has experience with the breed.

Duncan's adoption fee is $250. All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and on an established potty training schedule.

ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, DO NOT USE THE PETFINDER CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those--only submitted applications will receive a response.

We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25 and do not accept electric fences as a source of containment. Because we are volunteer-based and a home visit is required, we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, Ohio, for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Thank you for your understanding!

About Miami Valley Pit Crew

About Our Rescue Group...

The Miami Valley Pit Crew (MVPC) is a network of volunteer foster homes dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused, neglected and misunderstood dogs and puppies. Though we rescue all breeds, we specialize in Bully and working breeds: Bull Dog breeds, Pit Bull breeds, Mastiff breeds, Shepherd breeds and any mixes of the aforementioned. We take on the hard medical cases to give nice dogs a real chance at a forever home.

We pull dogs from Ohio kill shelters and we also educate owners and the public on bully breeds and Breed Specific Legislation (BSL).

The MVPC evaluates each rescue request to determine the dogs re-homing probability. We want to ensure each dog we take in can be rehabilitated into a family member. We work hard locally to educate bully breed owners and speak out against Breed Specific Legislation.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fees are $200 for adult dogs, and $250 for puppies 8mo and under. Adoption fees may be more or less depending on breed, special needs, etc. This covers all vetting and allows us to take on hard cases.

It all starts with an application.

Our dogs are listed until the adoption paperwork is signed. Please submit an application for approval FIRST. We do not adopt out littermates together. We are a 100% foster-based, volunteer rescue so we are not able to respond to every inquiry about a dog (though we try) and we will respond to a request for an application or if one is submitted through our website. Please allow 72 hours for us to respond, and please check your spam/junk mail folder first, then send us an email if you believe we have not responded! Since we are foster-based, we have no centralized facility to visit. All of our dogs live in private homes as members of their respective foster families.

We require a physical fence for most dogs.

Once approved, we bring the dog to your home for a home visit. If all goes well at the home visit, the adoption is completed at that time.
