My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wesley is currently being fostered in Connecticut.

A little information about Wesley...

Hi! My name is Wesley and foster mom (FM) says I am a small chihuahua and am super cute with a personality to match . . . not like some of those yippy chihuahaus :) I found myself all alone in a scary place called a shelter and when no one came for me, FM says she would help me find a forever home where I would be loved and not left all alone again. When I went into the shelter, I had an old blue harness on that was so tight it had rubbed almost all of the hair off of my neck and chest area where it dug into me . . . FM had to cut if off of me and boy, did that feel good! I love everyone and don't even bother the cats. She also says I am a really smart boy as I come when she calls me, know right where my crate is for feeding, and I'm really good on a leash and LOVE to go for walks. I also love a good cuddle and occasional belly rub, and am looking for my very own best friend. While I had a rough start, I'm only about 2 years old and only weigh about 9lbs (as of September 4) so I wouldn't take up much room at all (only a small corner of your heart!) If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application at http://www.homewardboundct.org/want-to-adopt-a-dog/ . . . I will be waiting to meet you!

If you are interested in this dog or any of our dogs please go to www.homewardboundct.org (copy and paste in browser window) and see all of the dogs coming and also fill out an application).

If you are a first time dog owner we may require a home visit prior to adoption.

If you rent or live in a condo we will require proof that you are able to have a dog. This could be a copy of the lease or condo agreement.

All the residents in the household must come to the event along with any dog in your home for a meet and greet with our trainers.

Per the request of the rescues we may limit adoptions to only Connecticut homes due to the distance and support we give them. This again is strictly the rescues decision and hope you will honor that.

We also require a follow up visit with all families within a couple of months after the adoption.

Since we know there are many questions, please realize we will answer questions of those who have filled out an application first.

Adoption Fee is no more than $385. All dogs will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated to age and also micrcochipped.

If you have additional questions about our dogs feel free to contact us. Please understand that we are all volunteers and will try to get back to you as soon as possible. If it is close to our event we are very busy with pre-screening our applicants so please understand if we can't answer all your questions in a timely manner. Our goal is to make sure these dogs go to the best home possible.
