Heidi's Story...
Heidi is a petite 4 month old German Shepherd mix who is a happy puppy and wags her tail whenever you talk to her. She is timid when you first meet her, but she warms up pretty quickly. If you give her the chance, Heidi loves to curl up in your lap and be close to you. She is a fast learner and picking up on potty training. Heidi gets along fine with her foster's dog and cat. Heidi just came into foster care so we will update her bio as we learn more about her.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Mark at markbopp-hahs@comcast.net so you can find out how to meet HEIDI!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Heidi, a Overland Park Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
