My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Jake. First off, I have to tell you how terrified I am of cameras. They keep telling me it's no big deal, but I'm pretty sure that's some sort of taser being pointed at me. So, please take my word for how handsome I really am. My photos don't do me justice. I am a super gorgeous kitty with soft silky black fur and sparkling green eyes. I came to the Rescue three years ago as a tiny kitten. I got adopted right away and thought I had landed a forever home. Then my family decided they don't have time for pets and they gave me back to the Rescue. I was very confused by all this and had a rough time adjusting to a foster care home. After all, everything I'd known for three years was just suddenly gone. I get along well with other cats and now I'm living with a dog. I use the litterbox like a good boy. I have a pretty laid back and mellow personality. I'm not a demanding cat. I'm actually quiet, calm and gentle. I'm happy to lounge around, looking out the window, watching the birds and squirrels, being petted and just relaxing. I'm a chill cat, they say. I hope to find a home without a lot of chaos. Nice and quiet suits me just fine. I'm a 3-year-old, neutered male with a soft soul, kind heart and a sweet disposition. Please give me a chance. Adoption fee: $60. Adopt a pair: $90. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 60 days of free pet insurance.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
