I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
We never understand why someone would let their dog go to a high kill shelter, and we never will. Especially when it's a girl like Sophie. When we looked into Sophie's eyes, we knew we couldn't leave her there. This girl is as sweet as can be--loves everyone she meets. In fact, she's the gal we introduce the new dogs to so that they feel comfortable in foster while they wait for their forever homes. We think she is about 5 years old, and comes with the calm demeanor an adult dog will bring. Sophie is getting along with the other dogs in her foster and still likes to run around and get some exercise. She would adore having her very own family to be with and be loved by. Sophie promises to return your love with loyalty and companionship. Sophie is being treated for heart worms and will be ready for adoption soon! If you would like Sophie to be your forever girl, the first step is to copy and paste this link to your web browser to fill out our online application, http://members.petfinder.com/~CT243/sampleform.html. Sophie will be heart worm free, spayed and up to date on shots. Full vetting and transport up north included in her $400 adoption fee. We cannot be certain what her true mix is, but we also believe she has a little Mountain Cur in her as well.
Our first experience with rescue was when we brought Jessie up from a kill shelter in North Carolina. Our family couldn't believe that they were killing sweet, wonderful dogs like this every day. We decided to do something about it. That was the beginning of our journey into rescue in 2006.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Sorry, You CAN'T Visit Us - We DO NOT have a facility in Connecticut. All of our dogs (unless noted) remain in the south until they have an approved adopter.
Our Adoption Process...
How To Adopt From Us The first step is to SUBMIT AN APPLICATION found on each dog's Petfinder description. When possible, the next step is checking with your Vet reference. We will then schedule a phone interview with the potential adopter to determine if the dog would be a good match for your family. A home visit is at our discretion. If the match is approved, the adopter will enter into an adoption agreement, at which point we arrange transport for the dog to it's new family. We endeavor to create forever homes for these deserving dogs; therefore, we reserve the right to refuse adoption of a dog if we determine the family is not the correct match for the dog/puppy.

Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
