Macy's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Macy's Story...
Macy is a 12 pound 3 year old purebred Shih Tzu. She is extremely shy around us humans because she has been a breeder's dog all her life. Macy knows how to use a doggie door for potty breaks and gets along well with other dogs. She sleeps on the bed in her foster home along with a few other doggies. Macy will wag her tail when she sees her foster mom, but is fearful when she's picked up. Macy is not at all aggressive and has never tried to snap or bite--she is really a lover, but has not yet discovered that fact. When you sit and hold Macy in your lap, she will relax and even turn over for a tummy rub.

Macy needs a home with a confident dog and a patient owner who will gently coax Macy out of her shell. All it takes is love and patience and she will bcome a loving and devoted pet.

Macy has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $250.00.

If you are interested in adopting Macy, please write us at and ask for an application to adopt. We are a foster-home based organization, and the adoption process starts when you submit your application. Once that has been approved, we can schedule a time for you to meet Macy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Macy, a Atlanta Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Atlanta, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Atlanta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Atlanta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Atlanta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Atlanta paves the way for another one to be saved.
