Buckeye was rescued from a local kill shelter where he had been adopted out and returned in less than 48 hours for "failure to bond." Just when we in rescue think we've heard it all, a new one comes along. This is a precious six-month-old kitten and the adopter was unable to "bond" within two days and dumped him back in the shelter. There is nothing not to love about this little guy. It is mind boggling that anyone couldn't bond with him in two minutes, let alone two days. Even sadder, when he was returned to the shelter they were so full that he had to be put in a cage with another kitten (Paradise, also available for adoption). The shelter was euthanizing for space and by doubling up cats in the cages, it kept them from having to euthanize as many. He is super sweet and friendly and gets along with dogs, cats and kids. He has beautiful tabby markings and will make a very handsome grown cat indeed. Buckeye is fully vetted and all he needs is someone to love. How about you?
