Arrival Story: Waggin' Tails found Andrew at Detroit Animal Care and Control. His perky ears caught our attention and his silly personality won us over. After meeting Andrew we promised to find him a great new home.

Approximate Age/Weight: 1-2 years / 50 lbs.

Personality: This kid always has a smile on his face! Andrew is a little independent, a little athletic, a lot silly with eyes that will melt your heart. We’re not sure what breed Andrew is, but we have fun guessing. He is likely a sight hound mix. His skinny build makes him ideal as walking/running partner. He’d love a yard of his own to run in freely. Andrew is treat-motivated and his nose is to the ground on walks. We are working on his walking skills, and he wears a harness. Andrew is puppy-like and loves toys. He really loves to play with other dogs, so a home with another friendly canine would be ideal!

Sometimes he can be a bit pushy in trying to get your attention by jumping or nudging, but he is learning manners and is quickly redirected to a sit and eye contact awaiting your next move. Andrew is learning his name, but a whistle gets his attention every time. He knows sit and down and picking up potty training in his foster home. Andrew is good at the vet's office.

Andrew loves to play with toys! He is so silly.

Andrew can be skittish when it comes to loud noises like vacuum cleaners, TV surround sound or something odd like a leaf getting stuck on his leash. He just needs some reassurance that all is okay

Forever Home: Andrew would fit in best with an active person/family. No electric fences for Andrew, please.
