My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

Babs is the prettiest southern belle you ever will meet. Well she’s probably not really southern but she is quite the prim and proper lady and we picture her as one. This lovely girl is a 6-7 year old American Bobtail maybe with a touch of Maine Coon thrown in for good measure. She’s not as big as a MC by any means but she sure has the coat of one.

Babs is a lovely girl who takes most things in life in stride. She walked right into her foster home like she had always lived there and made herself at home. She gave one hiss at each of the household cats and that was that; there have been no problems since then. Babs is also good with dogs that are nice to her and don’t chase!

Babs has zero fear of humans and will run right over to say hi to them. She is super sweet and can be very affectionate. Babs loves to be pet around her head, shoulders and chest and will sit there as long as you are willing to keep petting. While she offers up her belly all the time by flopping on the floor on her back she isn’t a huge fan of having her stomach pet and doesn’t really like you to scratch at her hind quarters. If you push her buttons by petting the tummy she will put her teeth on you – she doesn’t bite just puts your hand in her mouth. But she is more than willing to be held and cuddled; she loves to lie next to you and purr and drool while you pet her or even just have your hand on her.

She will tolerate brushing for about 3 minutes at a time then will struggle to get away – it’s simply her way of telling you she’s tired of you messing up her glorious coat! But really just stop and give her a few minutes to settle then you can go back to it. She was recently groomed to remove some mats and have her nails trimmed while she wasn’t thrilled at all with the nail thing all she did was squirm and kick to try and get away (again though no claws). Babs is silly and likes to talk to you in her rough gravelly voice, she plays with toys when she isn’t trying to get your attention and is a well-rounded, happy, easy going girl who would fit into any household (she’s good with kids over 5).

This girl is super soft like a bunny and has a thick long stunning coat that will require a bit of maintenance. Because it is so soft it can mat easily so she will need regular brushing – but she’s okay with that and takes it all in stride. We suggest that you just make brushing part of her daily bonding time – a few minutes a day and she’ll be good.

Babs has been microchipped, spayed and is current on all her vaccinations.

If Babs sounds like a good match for your family please go to http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and fill out the adoption application and her foster family will contact you shortly.

Babs’s adoption fee is $20
