Charlie's Info...

Charlie's Story...
Charlie the chi mix is 2-3 years in age and is on the market for a new home. Sadly, this little man was kept in a crate more often than not and not as social as he should be at this age. He is a shy boy and gets overwhelmed easily with a lot of activity. A home that is experienced with the breed is required for him. He is in a foster home and getting along nicely with the other dogs. His foster is working with him on socialization which is really needs at this particular time.

We recommend and encourage you to complete an application at http://henricohumane.org/adopt/application-for-dogs/ before coming to our next adoption event. To find out if I will be attending our next adoption event, please email dogs@henricohumane.org.

Adoption events are every Saturday, excluding holidays, at the Petco located at 11331 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA (next to Trader Joe’s) from 11:00am to 2:00pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a Richmond Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
