Mellie - just 20 lbs!'s Story...
Mellie is an adorable tricolor purebred Mini Aussie who weighs just 20 lbs at one year old. She is a bit shy at first with people but quickly warms up and wants to cuddle. Mellie is very submissive with other dogs but eventually wants to play with them. She is fine with cats. She adores children but is best with children 5 and older as she does get excited and knock down small children. Mellie is housetrained and cratetrained. She enjoys walking on a leash and snuggling on the sofa. Mellie is a very quiet girl who almost never barks. Her adoption fee is $200 and that includes spay surgery, heartworm test (negative), all shots, deworoming, microchip, chew bone, collar leash and flea/heartworm prevention. She is available for adoption now. If you are interested in adopting this fluffy little cutie, please email healingheartsrescue@hotmail.com. You can also call or text (615) 290-2454.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mellie - just 20 lbs!, a Madison Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Madison, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Madison.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Madison already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Madison breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Madison paves the way for another one to be saved.
