Beau is a beautiful 3-year-old tri Australian Shepherd boy. He was picked up as a stray and taken to the Collin County Animal Shelter where we rescued him. He had huge mats behind his ears and looked like he had not been brushed in a long time. We brushed him and removed all his mats and he looked like a new dog after that. He has only been in his foster home for a week so we will update his bio as we learn more about him, but thus far, he has been so happy to be at home, wagging his nub the entire time, playing with our other dogs and asking to be petted. Despite being clearly the biggest dog in the house (he is about 50lb) he is very submissive and lets our 20lb corgi be alpha. Even when the corgi was trying to bite him and not welcome him into the house, Beau took it as a sign of play and proceeded to play with him until they became friends and were chasing each other in the yard. He is just a happy-go-lucky good nature dog who makes for a very very fluffy teddy bear. Beau is fairly quiet (we have yet to hear him bark), crate trained and house-broken, though as an un-neutered male he marked once in the house. He was neutered on November 1st so his marking instinct will likely decrease. Despite his size, somehow he manages to squeeze through our 6” by 11” doggy door and already learned to use it to go in and out of the house when he needs to go potty. It looks as challenging as putting a mattress topper back in the original package after opening it, but somehow he does it gracefully. Beau will be available for adoption on November 12th. Anyone interested in our dogs must be over 21. We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home (zip 75034) and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors. Our adoption fee for dogs is $175.

You can complete an online adoption application on our website we will get back with you asap.

About Furry Friends Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Furry Friends Animal Rescue

We are a new group started in 2013 by a large group of experienced rescuers - we wanted to be part of an ethical rescue group which would allow us to help homeless cats and dogs in the North Texas area. We value all the experience and knowledge brought to this group by the volunteers so the group is member based. We welcome new volunteers and fosters, both experienced or new to rescue. You can contact us by email or through our website - we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Our Adoption Process...

We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis - it is our goal to find the right home for the cat or dog as well ensuring that the cat or dog is the right match for it's new family. A win/win situation.
For dogs, we require an application, home visit for approved application, and home trial period to ensure that it's a good fit for the dog and the family.
For cats, we require an application, but do allow same-day adoptions. Our goal is to find our fosters a "forever" home.
Our Adoption Fees are $140 for cats and $175 for dogs.

All our cats and dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption - this includes all age-appropriate vaccinations, feline leukemia/aids testing, heartworm tests, deworming, spay or neuter, microchips and other medical treatment as required.

You can fill out an Adoption Application online on our website.
