My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ - Due to the nature of our adoption process, this foster is only able to consider forever families within 30 miles from zip code 75082. A vet reference and trial adoption will be done before the adoption is finalized. Thank you for your understanding.

Beau is a beautiful 3-year-old tri Australian Shepherd boy. He was picked up as a stray and taken to the Collin County Animal Shelter where we rescued him. He had huge mats behind his ears and looked like he had not been brushed in a long time. We brushed him and removed all his mats and he looked like a new dog after that. He has only been in his foster home for a week so we will update his bio as we learn more about him, but thus far, he has been so happy to be at home, wagging his nub the entire time, playing with our other dogs and asking to be petted. Despite being clearly the biggest dog in the house (he is about 50lb) he is very submissive and lets our 20lb corgi be alpha. Even when the corgi was trying to bite him and not welcome him into the house, Beau took it as a sign of play and proceeded to play with him until they became friends and were chasing each other in the yard. He is just a happy-go-lucky good nature dog who makes for a very very fluffy teddy bear. Beau is fairly quiet (we have yet to hear him bark), crate trained and house-broken, though as an un-neutered male he marked once in the house. He was neutered on November 1st so his marking instinct will likely decrease. Despite his size, somehow he manages to squeeze through our 6” by 11” doggy door and already learned to use it to go in and out of the house when he needs to go potty. It looks as challenging as putting a mattress topper back in the original package after opening it, but somehow he does it gracefully. Beau will be available for adoption on November 12th. If you are interested in meeting Beau, fill out an application at furryfriendsanimalrescue.org.

Anyone interested in our dogs must be over 21. We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home (zip 75034) and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors. Our adoption fee for dogs is $175.

You can complete an online adoption application on our website http://www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org- we will get back with you asap.

Foster Homes are needed in order to help more dogs and cats. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. Check out our website on how to become a Foster Parent! Visit www.FurryFriendsAnimalRescue.org and look under HOW TO HELP. Furry Friends provides veterinary care - you provide the home and love!.

We also need Volunteers for Adoption Events at Petsmart and Cage Cleaners.
