Sammy is an FIV positive young cat. He and his brother, Tigger, were fostered by our FIV positive foster Mom until she could no longer foster. They are sweet, playful, chatty boys who would like to stay together, but do okay with other cats too. Currently, Sammy is with a separate foster because he hasn't been feeling well, but he is on the mend! FIV is feline aids. Just like human aids, it can NOT be transmitted to other cats via grooming, sharing food or water, playing, snuggling, or normal interaction. The only way it can spread is via deep muscular bite wounds (with intent to kill) and mating. Since neutered cats do not do either of those things, Sammy and Tigger pose no risk to other cats. FIV can not be transmitted to any other species, including humans. As for their own health, Sammy and Tigger need no extra special care other than keeping their vaccines current and making sure they stay inside at all times. Despite their FIV status, the boys are just like any other cats. They play, snuggle, romp, climb, and love to be pet. They especially like wet food and will meow to let you know when it is dinner time. Please consider giving Sammy (and maybe his brother Tigger) the loving home they deserve.
Adoption fees will be discussed with serious, qualified adopters.
