Fancy is a beautifully marked 15 week old female calico kitten who is looking for her special new home. This gorgeous girl was found outside of a restaurant with a few other kittens by a staff member. They were all so hungry they were easily caught with some food, but once at the staff members home, they displayed their unsocial temperaments. The staff member fostered them for awhile and worked with food and treats, trying to gain the kittens trust, but it wasn't gained easily. They were transferred to the Benbrook shelter and were cared for in a back office for a few weeks. The kitten no longer tries to bite or attack when picked up and approached, but she does still hiss and try to get away from her human care givers. We are unsure if she will become any more social, so we we are now looking for a person that is willing to care for her. She has a couple of kitty roommates that she loves to play and snuggle with, and would undoubtably be happiest if she had other feline friend in her new home that she could hang out with. Fancy wouldn't mind being an inside-outside cat, but she hasn't been out on her own in quite sometime, so she will need someone to teach her how to thrive. She will probably never be a cuddly, outgoing cat, but she will undoubtedly help you keep pests at bay. She does love canned cat food, and enjoys temptation cat treats which should help win over her trust. When you are wanting to interact with her, she does best when approached at her level, and if she isn't hovered over. She does use the litter box, without any issues, and you can pick her up without getting scratched or bitten, she just really doesn't enjoy it and she usually tries to get away. Fancy is up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and will be spayed once adopted.
