My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Poodle/Westie is deservedly known as a great breed mix! Of utmost importance...both breeds are famous for their great temperaments, intellect, love of fun and extremely snuggly ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and very gentle with family members and other family pets. Blake is a great representative of both these loving and family-oriented breeds...he absolutely loves being with his people...if a walk is the order of the day - count him in! Blake would be overjoyed to take a hike through the Colorado mountains...and then crash on the couch snuggling close to his favorite humans and canines. Blake is an absolutely adorable and engaging guy who favors the intellect of the Poodle while taking on the very engaging and fun-loving qualities of the Terrier.

Blake's New Mexico rescuer had the following to say about this incredible guy:

Blake is the sweetest baby imaginable with an easy going personality and a medium level of energy. He does love to play and take walks (we're working on his leash skills and he's coming along), but he also loves to cuddle and have his tummy scratched. Blake gets along really well with our three smaller dogs and did great when our twelve year old grandson was visiting. We crate him at night next to our bed, and he sleeps quietly through the night.
Blake would fit in nicely with any family since he's an incredibly sweet and loving guy! He would enjoy the attention and full-time company of retirees and they would love him as well. He's an amazing lap-dog and a wonderful and loyal best friend. I think that Blake would also be very happy playing with older, dog-crazy kids. He would appreciate their love of fun and then cuddling in bed with them through the night.

Blake is a non-shedding pup..once his sad shelter hair grows out, Blake will have one of the most beautiful coats around. He will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free.

Blake's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes playmates everywhere he goes. He is social and that means everyone he meets has the potential to become a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Blake's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Blake goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion.

Blake is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of his breed mix. At just about 2.5 - 3 years old and 17 lbs, he seems to be healing from his very scary experience in a shelter...each day he's blossoming just a little more. Blake has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Blake in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he's engaging and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member.

Blake will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Blake's neuter and microchip immediately after his arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used.

Blake will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 11/19/16. If interested in this very sweet guy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
