Bastian's Story...
Bastian, Young Male, 20 pounds, Richmond VA

BASTIAN IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE RICHMOND VA AREA. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BASTIAN, PLEASE GO TO WWW.MOMSRESCUEVA.ORG AND COMPLETE AN APPLICATION.

I’m Bastian. I’m 2 years old, around 20 pounds, and they say I am a “long haired, standard dachshund.” I am SUPER social and love car rides and just being ‘out and about.’ I get along with people of all ages because they give me LOTS of attention! I am also okay with being around other dogs and even horses. Although I get along fine with other dogs, I am happiest when I am the center of all the human attention. I would like a person and/or family who wants to take me everywhere and allows me to be an integral part of their day-to-day activities.

I’m crate-trained and fine-tuning my house-breaking. I really don’t like being alone and am vocal about it, so apartment life is probably not the best for me. If you are looking for a cute, furry friend to share your adventures with, go to www.momsrescueva.org to see if we could be a match!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bastian, a Richmond Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
