Joey's Story...
"Joey" is a sweet 11-year old male Labrador Retriever who was surrendered by his owner on November 9, 2016 along with his companions (Honey Bear, Phoebe, and Winnie) who shared his previous home. "Joey" has a black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a handsome face with a large muzzle and long black velvet ears. This adorable guy has melted everyone's heart who has had the pleasure of meeting him. "Joey" has a lovable, easygoing personality and just seems to 'go with the flow'. This boy is a real gentleman and so easy to fall in love with. "Joey" walks gently on a leash and was such a joy to spend time with during his photo session. He seems like the kind of guy you'd like to spend the rest of your life with (and vice versa). "Joey" has a dry eye condition with a possible infection, so he is being given eye ointment and an antibiotic. He weighs 54.8 lbs. and could easily gain several pounds to fill out his slim physique.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Joey, a Marietta Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
