Shadow's Story...
Shadow has just arrived here at the rescue and is in need of a loving home. She is a beautiful, young (under a year old) catahoula leopard dog (possibly mixed with lab but could be purebred). She has a black with merle coat and amber eyes that will just melt your heart! Shadow was surrendered by her owners because they could not afford to feed her and they did not have the time for her. She needs someone who can spend time doing activities with her or giving her some exercise as she is an active, playful girl. Shadow is fun loving and friendly. She would be a great new playmate for your children or another dog or two. We do not know how Shadow does with cats. Shadow can be food aggressive but this is understandable since food has been hard to come by for her. She will be fed regularly here so hopefully some of that feeling of needing to protect her food since it might be her last will be overcome. Shadow appears to get along well with other dogs and kids. This is girl is a must see as pictures really don't do her justice. If you can provide a safe, secure, active, loving home, please consider adopting Shadow! Shadpw's adoption fee will be $150 and will help to cover her spay and thorough vetting as well as her cost of care while with us.Shadow will be spayed on Monday, November 21st and will be ready to join her new family anytime after that date. If interested in giving Shadow a home, please email your adoption application and interest or call us @ (352)493-1255 for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Chiefland Catahoula Leopard Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog for sale in Chiefland, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog dog from a breeder in Chiefland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chiefland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chiefland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chiefland paves the way for another one to be saved.
