Marco's Story...
Meet Marco the Magnificent. Marco is a healthy ten year old Chihuahua mix. Marco ended up at the shelter because his former owner could no longer care for him. It is very apparent from his sweet demeanor that he was loved and well taken care of. Marco is an intelligent little guy who quickly learned how to fit into a new household. He is an affectionate fellow who likes to cuddle near you and enjoys lots of belly rubs. He plays well with the resident dog, is ok with cats, housetrained and sleeps through the night. An added plus is his neat tidy way of eating--no food spread about. If you are looking for a friendly, lovable ,tail wagging dog - then this nicely behaved gentleman is one you should meet!

If interested in Marco, please complete an application which can be found at www.seniordoghaven.org. Any questions can be sent to info@seniordoghaven.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marco, a Wilmington Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
