My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Saved from from the streets and a life of neglect ...

Sarge's eyes tell a story....one that breaks our hearts to hear and one that he doesn't want to relive . Sadly, he's not sleeping in anyone's bed tonight after all he has been through . Instead , he's stuck in a run at a vets office waiting for a soul as gentle as he to come and save him . Sarge was found roaming the streets wearing a collar made of wires and rope . He was infested with fleas, emaciated , and matted beyond belief!

The vets office had no choice but to shave all of his beautiful fur off after being so severely matted . He had cuts on his ears, possibly due to fights or frost bite . His collar was embedded In his matted fur and they had to cut it off with scissors . His blood work showed that he is anemic and sadly , it is most likely due to all of the flea bites he endured. Based on certain behaviors ( not dangerous ones ) it is clear that this poor boy has never stepped paw in a house.

Due to the fact that he has lived his entire life outside , he is still working on his housebreaking and gets overly excited when he sees or plays with other dogs . He needs a patient , dedicated owner to show him the ropes and give him the time he needs to settle in . You can't blame him for not knowing what to do when he was never given any structure in the first place ! He needs some guidance and a little bit of time, but I know in my heart that his sweet nature will make it easy for anyone to fall in love ! He LOVES to be loved and give love . He is smart , athletic , and loves to interact with his humans !
