My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's hard to imagine this truly beautiful Schnauzer/Terrier in a high-kill shelter in Houston. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer saved Franny's life and nursed her body and spirit back to joy and well-being.

Franny is such a sweet dog with a smile on her face...except that is, when she's in a high-kill shelter fighting for her life. Franny's shelter photo is awful! She's a gorgeous girl and that photo in no way comes close to doing her justice. We'll update with a photo that captures the beauty of this lovely dog.

Franny loves treats, belly rubs, and car rides. She will walk right beside you on- leash and hardly barks at all. She is initially slightly shy of men, but warms up very quickly. Franny loves to run and play outside, plus she is a great hiker! she has exactly the appropriate amount of energy for a 9 - 12 month old, 18 lb healthy pup. Franny would do well with a family who is home a lot to take walks, play with and make visits to the park - she would love that! She'd also like to chill on the couch and snuggle, be petted and has never gotten overly grumpy about much of anything. She loves other dogs of all sizes and always behaves appropriately.

Franny is a truly smart pup. She appears to have the silly and very friendly traits of the scruffy Terrier while also carrying the lap-loving, very intelligent and more dignified qualities of the Schnauzer. What a gem of a best friend for a family who wants to include a very cute and sweet dog in their life. Franny has every trait to be a truly exceptional and loyal companion.

Like most Schnauzer mixes, Franny either doesn't shed or is a light shedder (we'll know for certain when her sad shelter coat grows out and is replaced by a healthy, lovely coat). Franny will require a commitment to periodic baths/grooming and great nutrition to keep her coat healthy, gorgeous and matt-free. Farfel's is very excited to participate in finding this special and beautiful dog her forever family.

Franny will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 12/2/16. If interested in this adorable, sweet, and very fun-loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
