My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tony is about 5-6 years old. He is believed to be a Jack Russell terrier mix. He is a little overweight and currently working on loosing some excess pounds! As you can see Tony is missing all his black hair. When he arrived in our program he was seen by the vet who believes that Tony has Canine Black Hair Follicular Dysplasia. This is a genetic disorder that causes him to loose only his black hair. Most likely it will never grow back but doesn't affect him at all! He likes to wear a sweater to keep warm and he may need some sunscreen put on in the summer to help protect his skin. When visiting the vet a complete blood panel was run and all his bloodwork looked great! He had two nasty teeth removed as well. Tony is a sweet boy, loves to ride in the car and hang out with his people. He is crate trained and doing really well on house training! (most days he doesn't have accidents) He does well with all the other dogs in his foster home and likes the kids too!

$175.00 adoption donation ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough) , microchipped and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites if needed. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as surgeries and dentals.
