Lily's Story...
"Lily" is a beautiful 5-year old female Beagle mix who was surrendered by her owner on November 22, 2016 along with "Jemma" who had shared her previous. Another companion ("Bea") is also in our shelter. "Lily" has a black/brown/white short smooth coat, a rather long body, a long tail with the traditional white tip, and an adorable face with characteristic features of her noble breed including extra-large floppy ears. "Lily" has a sweet docile disposition and a gentle, easygoing personality. "Lily" hasn't had the luxury of being trained to walk on a leash, but she made a few gallant steps to make the journey outdoors to have her glamour photos taken. And our kind kennel techs and photographer provided carry-out/carry-in service when needed :) "Lily" can't understand why she is suddenly in a kennel by herself with so many other dogs nearby. Our shelter staff and volunteers will be giving her extra TLC for sure. "Lily" weighs 27 lbs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lily, a Marietta Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
