Darrin Samantha Tabitha (New)'s Story...
This adorable trio of "Bewitching Kittens" made their debut at the HSOV on October 4, 2016 after our Humane Officer rescued them from what must have been a terrifying experience for these tiny babies :( A coyote had killed their mother and some of their siblings the evening before. These three kittens were spared and surely survived because there was a 'bigger plan' for them (or at least that is what we'd like to believe). The kittens were just 4-weeks old when they were brought to the safety of our shelter but were eating mush and small kitten chow. There are two beautiful little girls (Samantha and Tabitha) and one handsome little boy (Darrin). Samantha has a jet black coat; Tabitha has a white coat with calico markings on her head/tail; and Darrin has a black-and-white coat. These precious babies have sweet playful personalities in spite of the trauma they endured. Fortunately for them, one of our compassionate foster mothers took them home with her on October 25th where they have been receiving extra TLC and attention. Darrin, Samantha, and Tabitha will be available for adoption when they are old enough to be spayed/neutered. They would be available for rescue at any time. Rescue groups may contact our Feline Rescue Coordinator via email ( We can usually help with transportation and also provide combo testing without charge to rescues/fosters. NOTE: These updated photos were taken on November 12, 2016 when their foster mother brought them back for a visit <3

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Darrin Samantha Tabitha (New), a Marietta Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
