Vera's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Vera's Story...
Vera is a gentle, lovable, shy and extrememly sweet, two to three-year-old, female white and black long-legged Shih Tzu-mix looking for a loving guardian.

Vera is so nervous with new people that she actually shakes when you hold her. She is looking for a loving family without small children to give her the security and comfort she craves.

Her adoption fee of $250 benefits the rescued dogs of Famous Fido. She is up-to-date on vaccinations and will be spayed and micro-chipped upon adoption.

To meet and possibly adopt Vera, please fill out the adoption application at http://famousfidorescue.com/rescueforms/machform/view.php?id=26727 and follow up by contacting Gloria at fido@famousfidorescue.com or 773-907-0305. Vera is currently at the Famous Fido Rescue facility at 3124 W. Irving Park Road (at Troy Street) in Chicago.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vera, a Chicago Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
