Hello, my name is Barley! I was born around June 18, 2016. I love other kitties and I hope to find a home where I'm not the only feline. I had kind of a rough start in life, which has made me a shy boy. It takes me a little time to warm up to strangers. But, once I adjust to my new home and new people, I come out of my shell to reveal the sweetest, most loving little guy. I purr and purr while being loved and petted. I will rub up against your legs for some attention and affection. Cuddle time is my favorite time. I also like to play with toys and shoelaces. I always use a litterbox like a good boy. I am looking for a quiet home without a lot of loud noises and chaos. I need a laid back home to fit my laid back personality. Saturday, March 25: Adoption Event at
PetPeople, 6520 Telegraph Rd, Bloomfield Hills. From 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., come meet adoptable cats and kittens on the 4th Saturday of each month (as available - not all adoptable animals will be at every event).
Adoption event dates for 2017: March 25, April 22, May 27, June 24, July 22, August 26, September 23, October 28 and November 25.
Saturday, April 8: Adoption Event at
Suburban Subaru, 1821 Maplelawn Dr, Troy. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., come meet adoptable pets at the Suburban Subaru dealership in Troy (as available - not all adoptable animals will be at the event). Meet some amazing cats and dogs, then test drive a cool new car.
Adoption Process: Complete the application at
www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
