CUBBY's Story...
✰✰ CUBBY Male 1 year & AVAILABLE - for more photos of CUBBY please click http://norcalbcrescue.org/cubby_2016.html ✰✰

CUBBY is a one year old, rough coat male. He has a super mellow and sweet disposition and gets along well with everyone. CUBBY is a bigger boy at 62 lbs. and is tall enough to put his paws on his foster mom's shoulders. Don't let his size fool you though, he is a big softie who loves his people. He likes to get and give affection and is eager to please. We’ve had a few of these ‘Gentile Giants’ come through rescue and the foster parents always love them so. He gives amazing hugs!

CUBBY gets along well with his foster dog pack and pretty much ignores the cats. So far he has been more interested in his people than playing with the other dogs, though from time to time he will engage them in play. Still, he can be very playful and full of energy. CUBBY has a solid sit and will wait patiently for his food, treats, praise or affection. He is partially potty trained and is doing well with his training when directed. Although we don't know anything about his past, he acts like he might have been an outside dog, but is learning to be an inside dog as well. He is still getting used to the good life inside the house, but is quickly figuring out its the place to be. He has not been destructive or chewed anything in his foster home and is content to hang out when left alone for a few hours.

Overall, CUBBY is a very nice, loving boy who would benefit from further love, attention and training from his new owner to become the best dog he can be.  He would do well in an active home. He needs a little encouragement to get in the car, but rides fine once he is in, so count him in for walks in the wood or trips up the hill for a play day in the snow!

CUBBY is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about CUBBY, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. CUBBY is being fostered in Folsom in Sacramento County, California.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CUBBY, a Corning Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Corning, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Corning.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Corning already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Corning breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Corning paves the way for another one to be saved.
