Lucian's Story...
Lucian sure is one handsome boy, isn't he? We just can't imagine how someone put so much time into training him and teaching him so many things, yet when he was picked up as a stray, they never came looking for him. Lucian is starting over now and hoping for a great home with a family that will love him and keep him safe forever. He's only about 10 or 11 months old and Lucian is a super smart boy. He is very people-focused and will do anything you ask of him, including sit, lay down, give you a pawshake, stay in place for as long as you ask him to, and he doesn't have any issues around his food bowl or with taking treats or toys. There is just one drawback to this superstar of a pup- he can hardly contain himself when he is playing. He gets a little rambunctious while playing but the good news is, he stops and goes back to behaving the moment you ask him to. Lucian is spunky, active, and lots of fun. He will need a home with no cats but he gets along just fine with most dogs that he meets. If you're ready to add a new fun-loving friend to your life, come in and meet Lucian. File#26781 10/19/16

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucian, a Forked River American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Forked River, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
