My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jade is a young, spayed approx. 2 year old pit bull mix rescued from a local shelter. She loves people and bonds very quickly. We're still learning about her, but it is very important to understand the breed as they have common qualities she is exhibiting - strong loyalty to people, not the type of dog you'd get as company for your dog but wonderful to provide company to people. She is crate training right now and working on leash walking. She seems very smart and willing to learn. Pit bulls are also not the type of dog you can leave in a yard while you are away because they are so loyal they try to escape to look for you. They are also frequently stolen from yards. She seems very happy inside with the family. She loves to go on rides in the car to do errands and does well in the car. She tries to play with the dogs in her foster home, but they are senior dogs and can't keep up with her. So it is hopeful that she could get along well with other dogs that may be closer to her age.

We recommend and encourage you to complete an application at http://henricohumane.org/adopt/application-for-dogs/ before coming to our next adoption event. To find out if I will be attending our next adoption event, please email dogs@henricohumane.org.

Adoption events are every Saturday, excluding holidays, at the Petco located at 11331 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA (next to Trader Joe’s) from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
