My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Captain is a unique mix of Border Collie and Saint Bernard, weighing in at 52 pounds. Home Fur Good initially rescued this six-year-old gentleman from the county shelter in November. Captain was adopted, and has returned after spending a few months in a home where his personality started to show, and now his perfect family can be found. He lived with a man and a woman, and he was great with both of them and especially loving toward the man. Captain became protective of his family, and he would lunge and growl at strangers, especially men. He also has a strong prey drive. The perfect scenario for Captain would be a home where there are not a lot of strangers or visitors stopping by. He will also need a home without children. In a calm environment, he just goes with the flow, and he calmly goes about his day. Captain does have a playful side; when he lets his guard down and he is comfortable, he allows himself to be a puppy again. He is buddies with shelter-mate Spot; they wrestle, play chase, and go on great walks together. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit with our vet. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. Out-of-state adoptions to surrounding states are possible; however, an in-person introduction with us and our dogs is mandatory. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm, and a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment. Visit our website at www.homefurgood.org for more information.
