Callie's story is full of ups and downs. This gorgeous Catahoula was listed as urgent in a Louisiana shelter shortly after our mega adoption event. We had a ton of open fosters and welcomed 19 new dogs in one week. 1 year old Callie was one of those lucky dogs.

She arrived at our vet along with a ton of unexpected issues. Callie was not a yearling but closer to 10 years old. She was high heartworm positive and riddled with mammary tumors. But her foster didn't back out. In fact she was adopted a short time later!

A couple weeks ago however, Callie's new world came crashing down again. Her adopter, her dad died unexpectedly.

Now she is coming back to Dog People. And while we are always open for any of our dogs to return we don't always have an open home.

Callie will head to boarding saturday unless we find a spot for her.
She's crate trained, house trained and on meds for heartworms and mammary tumor free! She acts more like a pup than a senior and is sweet sweet. She does ok with other dogs after proper introductions.
