Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jimmy was found skinny and with a broken pelvis after being hit by a car. He was nursed back to health at the Livingston Parish Animal Shelter. Although he was the staff sweetheart, he ended up on the urgent list due to extreme fear issues.
We were able to place him in one of our foster homes that seems to specialize in these cases. He is still nervous around new people, especially men, and may always need to have special care taken when introducing him to new people and situations, but he is progressing rapidly. Jimmy is exceptionally loyal & affectionate towards the people he trusts and gets along very well with dogs of all sizes. He loves to play with other dogs and has plenty of energy to keep everyone entertained. Jimmy is food motivated and learns quickly.
The ideal home for Jimmy would have at least one other playful dog and a secure fence, as well as patient, understanding humans who are ready for the long transition period his foster mom is planning on to ensure Jimmy feels comfortable and safe with his forever family.
