Felix's Story...
Breed: I believe these guys are Flemish Giant mixes
Size: Medium to large size male, 8 pounds
DOB: Approximately a year old I believe so around fall of 2015
Reason in Rescue: Felix and his sister Beth were discovered running loose in a forest! Someone contacted us and a group of our volunteers spent a few hours chasing them around and finally caught them!
Personality: Despite them being essentially "wild" bunnies for at least a whole season, these two are super nice. I believe they were handled prior to being dumped, as they seem to really like people and attention! Just super sweet big bunnies! Felix loves being petted and loved on but he does not like being held. He is very good with his litter box.
Friends: Felix is a good candidate to be bonded to a spayed female
Requirements: Must be adopted as an indoor animal, with an as large as possible plastic bottomed cage or puppy pen (minimum 4' x 2'). Adoption process: An adoption application must be filled out (, and approved by us. Then we will arrange a meeting time to see the animal of interest. A home visit is required prior to adoption. Suggested adoption donation is $60 which includes his neuter and microchip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Felix, a Edinburg Flemish Giant was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Flemish Giant for sale in Edinburg, or seeking a Flemish Giant from a breeder in Edinburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edinburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edinburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Flemish Giant breeders who help with Flemish Giant rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edinburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
