Carmella's Story...
Carmella is one of three girls in a litter of four rescued from a backyard/feral sitation. She and her siblings were taken directly to a foster home, and were raised with oodles of love and human touch. Carmella is a true lovey dovey who craves love and affection and reaches out to you when she wants to be held. She purrs loud enough for the next county to hear, and she gets along well with her foster brothers, as well as the family dog. Although somewhat shy when strangers visit, Carmella loves people, and other cats.

Carmella is 8-months old as of February 2017, spayed, micro-chipped, up to date on all her shots and available for adoption. You can visit her at the PetSmart Adoption Center on Elston, in Chcago.

Her litter mate Carmichael is also available for adoption and is in foster care. Either of them can be adopted with one another, or into a home with another young cat to play with.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmella, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
