Meet Lacey (the chocolate chihuahua) and Penelope (the cream chihuahua). Unfortunately, their human dad recently passed away and no family members are able to care for them. We happily took these two senior girls in and are now hoping we can find a foster or adopter. Penelope is 8 years old. She has an issue with her pancreas, so she has to stay on a very healthy diet and cannot have any human food at all because it makes her very ill. Lacey is about 12 years old and had a dental with a lot of teeth pulled shortly before their dad passed away because he loved her very much. Both the girls are a little scared but extremely sweet. They have no idea what is going on or why they have been switched around from place to place among family members and then to their TXCR foster. The girls seem very lost, and we would like to keep them together if possible. Both weigh under 5 pounds and will be wonderful snuggle bugs given some time. They will use potty pads indoors and also know how to use a pet door to go potty but only if the door opens to a securely fenced yard so they don't get lost.

Texas Chihuahua Rescue is based in San Antonio, Texas. This dog is being fostered in the San Antonio area. Additional photos and videos will be made available to potential adopters upon approval of our online adoption application. Transport arrangements will be made upon application approval and completion of the adoption agreement.
