My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a goldbar male chinchilla who’s looking for his new home. He came to NWI just a bit ago, and we have down that he was born around 9/14/16, which makes him right around 3 months old. He is super tiny and super sweet, and totally ready to go to his new home!

This male’s color is called goldbar. It is a whiteish champagne color, which is usually darker on the back of the chinchilla. This color is the same as what you might see called Lowe’s recessive white. This is an unusual color to come across in a chinchilla – a chance to own a color not everyone can say they have!

When you see this boy hop around the cage and popcorn, you might think that he’d be super super energetic, but actually he actually great with being held! He really seems to enjoy being scratched, especially behind the ears, and actually sits rather nicely in your arms while you're holding him. He actually seems to enjoy being petted. He’ll likely be a fun one at playtime when he’s old enough (6+ months) as he does have some energy, but he tones it WAY down when you are holding him. Super sweet boy. Just the most adorable little face. Doesn’t bite.

He would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had one before.

This chinchilla is currently caged alone. However, if you interested in pairing him up with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (Tradition pellets), a goodie bag of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

This chinchilla is located in Hammond, Indiana (zip code 46324). We can ship chinchillas from Chicago O’Hare, to a major airport near you. Inquire if interested.

The adoption fee for this goldbar male chinchilla kit (baby) is $250

We can hold chinchillas up to 14 days with half down, to get you closer to a Christmas pickup. We are closed for pickups from the 24th – 26th of this month.
