That smile you see is one of a little old lady soaking up all the love and attention she has been missing for months. We have all heard it before...new baby arrives and life-long, loyal dog is discarded. Such is Nena's story. After eleven years, when the baby arrived not only did the love and attention stop but Nena was forced to live on the back porch. When even that became an inconvenience, her owners took her to the vet to be euthanized. Thankfully, our amazing vet team refused and after getting this sweet gal the medical care she needed, they reached out to us. A senior Schnauzer who wants nothing more than a safe home, a warm bed and parents that will let her sleep on their feet? Yes please! We are all about helping make that happen for Nena! Don't be fooled by her age, Nena is as spry as they come and would love a family who likes walks around the neighborhood or brisk nature jaunts. Nena is good with laid back dog friends and would be just fine sharing her home with another canine sibling or being the one and only in her new home. This golden girl is housebroken and crate trained though a family that is home more often than not is preferred. Nena is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped.
