Savannah is the perfect combination of loving, loyal, and energetic, and her daughter Jasna is her clone (Jasna has a separate listing but is pictured in the last picture with Savannah)! Savannah is approximately 3 years old, and is a mix of a Labrador Retriever, Chesapeake Bay Retriever and Staffordshire Terrier - giving her an extremely affectionate, playful, and protective disposition and minimal grooming needs. She gets along very well with other dogs, is housebroken, and has a very submissive nature towards her humans, wishing to please at every moment. Savannah will fetch a ball for hours on end, is very good on walks, and will need moderate daily exercise. Her favorite part of the day is when she is snuggled up with her humans, and if you don't volunteer your cuddles and kisses she will definitely demand them! Savannah is always very alert and will bark if someone knocks on the door. She also loves to watch for small critters (squirrels, groundhogs, even birds) to chase out of her yard so she should probably not be in a home with cats or other small pets. Savannah has shown to be protective of her humans with strangers initially, but the moment she senses there is no danger she is extremely friendly to strangers. While Savannah is not extremely large (approx. 55lbs), she often loves to jump and romp around and does so with great vigor so a home with very small children or elderly may not be ideal. Savannah loves to run, play, chase, fetch, etc. so a fenced yard for her and Jasna to play in would be ideal.
Savannah came from a rural southern kill shelter that euthanizes dogs weekly for space. She was on the kill list along with her daughter Jasna - both of them were surrendered to the shelter by their owners who neglected them and provided them with no medical care. Savannah has been fully vaccinated and all her medical issues have been resolved. She has received a clean bill of health from the vet. She is spayed and microchipped as well. Sadly, her owners chopped off most of her ears, presumably by hand with a scissors, and presumably to make her look "tougher" and there is no medical science available to give her back her pretty lab ears. But her hearing is unaffected and she has left her past far behind her. She shows no ill will toward humans for any of her past treatment! Savannah is only available for adoption with her daughter, Jasna, as they are extremely bonded and close, and we try never to separate a bonded pair!
