SPROKET
Neutered Male Cream/White Miniature Poodle Mix Ab0ut 11 lbs. 4 years old
Oh man, I can’t believe this has happened. A few years ago I was with the rescue people and they found me a home. It was great but then something happened (I don’t want to discuss it, so don’t ask) and there I was on the street. Not good. Very bad actually. This time I was picked up by the public shelter people, who tried to be nice, but you know what can happen there if you aren’t adopted pretty quickly. Then things started to turn around – the poodle people came to my rescue again! So now here I am at the rescue kennel – good food, daily walks, affectionate visitors. But something is lacking even so; that something is YOU. You are the one that can scoop me up, take me home and make sure I never go through this again.
There are a few things about me that might make you want to do just that. First of all, I’m pretty cute (or so I’m told), and I’ll only get cuter and cuter as my hair grows. Like a lot of my dog friends here, I had to be shaved down when I first came in because I was just a real mess of mats. That’s what happens to poodles on the street and why it’s so important that poodle people rescue them.
Well, enough of that. More important than being cute is being good. “Pretty is as pretty does,” as my grandmother used to say. And I am good. One of the volunteers was here the other day and said to me, “Sproket, you are really a calm and loving gentleman. I’d take you home if I had the room.” She said I am soft, super sweet and an “easy keeper.”
Wish my grandmother could have heard that! But being my grandmother she probably would have said, “I’m proud of you Sproket, but really I have noticed that you pull on your leash a little now and then.” So when you take me home with you, maybe we could go to a class or something so I could learn to be not just good, but perfect. My grandmother would like that.
Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoption.
