I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Elsie was found as a stray. The woman who brought her to us, told her she had searched for her owner and could not keep her and then kindof left her and drove off. At the time, we had very little space to take in a new dog but she was so cute, how could we not try to find her a new home. Elsie looks to be a young girl..maybe about a year old and we are guessing that she is a lab/italian greyhound mix. She has a good deal of energy like the greyhound breeds have but she has a sweet disposition like the lab. We feel that she would do well in an active home or a home where she could run and expend some of that pent up puppy/greyhound energy. We would not recommend her for a strictly sedentary lifestyle, although she would probably love to curl up on the couch with you once she has played and frolicked a bit. She would do great with kids or other dogs who could entertain her and give her some activity. We do not know how she is with cats but would probably do fine with inside cats after an initial adjustment as long as the house rules were laid down immediately and boundary lines drawn. Outside cats is anyone's guess-most dogs like to chase them when they run unless they have been raised around them and there is no way for us to know since she was a stray. Elsie will be spayed tomorrow, 1/4/17 and will be available for adoption anytime after that date. Please email your adoption application and interest if you would like to bring Elsie home and make her a part of your family or call us @ (352)493-1255 to set up a meet and greet! Her adoption fee will be $175 and will help us to cover her spay, vetting and cost of care while with us.
We are a small rescue started in September 2004. To date, we have adopted out over 250 dogs and cats who may not have had a second chance. We rescue the majority of our pets from kill shelters and have them thoroughly vetted prior to going to their new homes. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm checked(dogs) and dewormed. We also microchip our dogs so that they can always find their way home. Big and small, we work to rehome them all. We are always in need of donations so if you can help us to help our pets, please contact us! The more people who get involved, the more pets that we can save! You can also see our pets and/or fill out our adoption application on www.petfinder.com. We look forward to hearing from you and making that "forever match"!
Come Meet Our Pets...

We currently have a special adoption fee for our cats who are already completely vetted(spayed/neutered and UTD vacc )You can adopt one of these kitties for ONLY $25.00!!! If for any reason a pet that you adopt can not remain with you, we require that the pet be returned to Paws & Claws to be rehomed. We do NOT give refunds for any reason so please consider adoption carefully before you take a pet home. We also ONLY accept CASH as payment for our adoption fees. Our main requirement to adopt is LOVE! If you can offer love to a needy pet, please consider adoption. Your reward will be a devoted friend for life.
