My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The very first thing our rescuer noticed about Ravi were his very wise..and very frightened eyes in the dim high-kill shelter light. She stared at Ravi for a bit and saw all the wonderful possibilities in this Westie/Cairn Terrier mix. This photo definitely doesn't do this exceptional guy justice! A spa day is in order - underneath the deep matts and shelter dust is an exceptional Terrier waiting to emerge.

Ravi immediately makes it clear that he desperately wants to love and trust. But the overwhelming shelter environment makes it difficult for a young guy who's had some scary experiences.

Farfel's Rescue was happy to speak up for Ravi as we also saw every possibility in this sweet guy. He was immediately removed from the shelter and taken to a loving and nurturing foster home. After a day or two of calm and kind words, Ravi became ready to experience his world. He's doing great and we'll attach his new foster report and photos as soon as we receive them.

Ravi was clearly delighted with the turn his life had just taken! This 9 - 12 month old, 11 lb cutie-pie truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job. With Ravi's continued acceptance of the love (and belly rubs) his foster is sharing with him, he's coming to understand that he's a very special guy.

We feel that Ravi would do very well with either active retirees who enjoy loving on a young guy who's had far too little of that in his life. Getting out on a long walk to fulfill Ravi's exercise needs would speak to Ravi's Terrier personality. A dog-crazy younger family with older kids would also be a fit for Ravi. Once his exercise needs have been met...he's will become an all-time smuggler. He'd love nothing more at the end of the day than to cuddle up and show his devotion.

Ravi would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his people. We wouldn't want him to be left alone for long hours waiting for his family to arrive home in the evening.. a few hours at a time are fine..but an entire day is just too long for an active and sensitive pup.

Ravi is a non-shedding (or lightly shedding) guy with a coat that will need baths and brushing. His new family must commit to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep Ravi's coat healthy and matt-free.

Ravi will arrive on transport in Boulder on Friday 1/13/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this sweet and silly Terrier, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
