Wookie -- Sweet Shih Tzu
Wookie is a playful Shih Tzu pup estimated to be about 1 year old.
When he was rescued from the shelter, he was severely matted and he looked like a Wookie from the Star Wars movie—hence his name. Wookie is a low shed/no shed dog. He has very soft fine hair which makes him nice to pet, but does make more work for his owner because he will need to be brushed and groomed periodically to keep him from getting matted.
Wookie is a happy dog. His tail is always wagging and when you talk to him his whole body wiggles. Wookie is also a bit of a clown and loves to play with other dogs. I am currently fostering a puppy that is much smaller than he is. Wookie will lay down on the ground to be at her height and will let her climb all over him. He will play with her and is very tolerant when she jumps on him and chews on his ears. Wookie also likes to snuggle with his people. If you are looking for an entertaining companion, Wookie may be the dog for you.
Foster Homes are needed in order to help more animals like this one. Please consider opening your heart and home to a homeless animal. Check out our website on how to become a Foster Parent! Visit www.FurryFriendsAnimalRescue.org and look under HOW TO HELP. Furry Friends provides veterinary care - you provide the home and love!.
We also need Volunteers for Adoption Events at Petsmart and Cage Cleaners.
Anyone interested in our dogs must be over 21. We are only able to adopt to homes within a reasonable driving distance of the dog's foster home and please be prepared for a home visit by one of our volunteers. We do not adopt on first-come-first-served basis, we want to make sure the dog is right for the family and vice versa based on what we know about the dog's personality, habits and behaviors. Our adoption fee for dogs is $175. You can complete an online adoption application on our website http://www.furryfriendsanimalrescue.org- we will get back with you asap.
