Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ava is a 4.5 year old spayed collie. She weighs in at 55lbs. She is UTD on all vaccinations and flea medication. Ava is HW negative and currently on HW preventative.
Ava is a very intelligent and happy collie with energy and spunk. She enjoys and requires daily walks to keep her mind busy, to smell the fresh air and see the sights around her. Ava pulls slightly but is a joy to walk and is always ready to go another mile! She would do well with an active family/person that can keep up with her exercise requirements
After she gets in some exercise, Ava also enjoys quiet time in the house and will nap or spend time with you as you watch TV or read. She sleeps through the night and is very quiet and respectful of her foster mom.
Ava is extremely reliable in the house. She is housetrained, not a chewer and very neat and tidy.
Ava does really well with her foster mom’s cats and just ignores them. She has been with children in her past life and we have been told she enjoys them but this hasn’t been verified as of this writing. She would do best in a house with no other dogs because she is not totally dog friendly all the times or a very thorough evaluation of the compatibility of Ava with another dog should be made. She is very friendly with the small poodle-mix in her foster mom’s home but not with a male, neutered collie. Ava would do very well with someone who is aware of the collie temperament as she does have a tendency to bark.
A patient, calm and knowledgeable person would be important to her happiness.
Ava is not a fence climber and respects its boundaries. She does very well on recall after she gets to know you and understands several commands. Ava is extremely intelligent and enjoys her toys and puzzles. She would make an excellent agility dog and probably enjoy every moment of it. Ava is the type of dog that wags her tail as soon as you speak to her and enjoys your attention immensely. She is kind and gentle to her foster mom and is a true joy to know and love.
