Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi there! I am Drizzy Dre, also known as Drizzles! I am a 9 month old boy full of all the love and life a beagle puppy can be! I am doing well in my foster home, but now I am ready to find the perfect fit for my forever home. I am getting along and playing with the other dogs here, but I get pretty barky when I meet new dogs for the first time. After I get to know them, I get along great.
I haven’t had much interaction with really small children, but I do fine with older kids. Cats? Well, I’m interested in them, and want to see if they will play with me, but I really haven’t spent a lot of time with them.
I am doing alright with potty training, but I am still a puppy you know, and still have some learning to do. My foster mom uses a bell for us to ring when we want to go out and I’m starting to figure that out! I do get a little anxious in my crate at night, and when no one is home, and I’m learning how to walk on a leash. There is so much to explore that it is a hard thing to learn!
Foster mom uses training treats and positive reinforcement and I love learning new things that way. Since I am a curious puppy, I would need a secure fenced yard or tie out. If your yard isn’t fenced, I would need to always be on a leash. I wouldn’t run away on purpose, but my curiosity might get the best of me and I’d follow my nose for miles!
I love car rides and going out for new adventures! I have a sister who is also ready for adoption…Suzie Q…and another sister and mom who will be posted in the near future (Brownie and Sheila). I will be your best boy if you choose to adopt me! Contact Midwest BREW so my foster mom can tell you more!
Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements; and for families with very small children, puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets and hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
