Hi there!
My name is Roxy. I am a 1½ year old Australian Shepherd mix and weigh 57 pounds. Everyone says how pretty I am.

I might be a little skittish when we first meet, but once I get to know you, what a great friendship it will be and I give kisses freely!

I get very excited when outdoors. I am energetic and run as fast a lightening. I would love to go on long walks to work off my energy, or runs if you are runner.

I know some commands. I am young and eager to learn more with my new family!

I would be best in an active family with no small children. I get along well with other dogs but do not like cats. A fenced in yard is a must for me.

If you would like more information about me, please call 201-797-8861 or email

Roxy was surrendered to the shelter by a man who said he found her 2 months ago and we wish we could find her owner. She is colored like a Rottweiler or Doberman but is the wrong body type, she has no tail. Just a furry nob! She's more Shepherd looking minus the tail.

She is 1-2 years old and weighs 57 pounds. Whatever breed she is, it turned out beautifully. She is social and friendly. Her morning walk is the best time of her day. This lovely girl should make a very good family companion. She gives kisses freely.

About Save The Animals Rescue Team, II (S.T.A.R.T. II)

About Our Rescue Group...

Save The Animals Rescue Team II (S.T.A.R.T. II), started in 1989, is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 status organization dedicated to alleviating the plight of homeless and abandoned companion animals. Twice a week we visit a local pound and take as many adoptable animals as we can. These animals are provided veterinary care, clean living conditions, exercise and socialization.

We work with potential adopters to find that perfect match… them a "fur"- ever home for life. In addition, we educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering as well as offering low cost options, vaccinations, preventive medications, and proper living conditions for their new and existing pets.

This lifesaving work is critical for many of these unfortunate animals, since their only crime was to be born unwanted. Since our inception, we have rescued and placed over 7,000 dogs and cats.
