LANA is everything you could ever desire in a Pyrenees, and her personality is true to her breed. Her forever family must understand the importance of continued consistent socialization and firm but kind leadership

An adoption application on LANA can be found at the following link: http://wp.me/P73YMd-1h
Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com
Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.

In addition to being absolutely beautiful, LANA is lovely to have in the home. She knows to potty outside and not to chew on things that don't belong to her. Smart LANA understands basic commands. She is already a pro at "sit" and "paw" and is doing quite well with "lay down." LANA is cuddly and affectionate, but also enjoys play time with other pups! She adjusts well to your mood and is content to either spend a lazy day on the couch or play in the snow for hours. She adores going for walks and receiving treats. She takes treats so gently, you can basically drop them in her mouth. She enjoys playing with toys; her current favorite is a cat puppet. LANA is quiet in her crate while her foster parents are at work.

LANA is absolutely everything to make a Pyrenees lover's dreams come true. As of 1/13/17 she is about 18 months old. In order to be eligible to add LANA to your family, you must have experience with Great Pyrenees and/or other similar large breeds. Her forever family must understand the importance of continued consistent socialization and firm but kind leadership.

LANA is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
She has already transported from the South to a foster family in Northeast New England.
Her adoption fee is $350.
If you are the lucky one chosen to adopt LANA, you must be willing to drive within one hour of her foster family's home to pick up your new princess.

Please email the completed application to weatherley.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed.

Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.

About WOOF RIVER ANIMAL RESCUE- Plainfield chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

Woof River Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer run foster based organization in Memphis, TN. Our mission is to save as many dogs and puppies as possible from high kill shelters and the streets in the South. Each and every dog lives as part of the family in a loving foster home until the perfect forever home is found.

An average of 1200 dogs a month are euthanized in the MidSouth. There are also countless dogs living on the streets without vet care or even shelter. These heartbreaking numbers are the fuel that keeps us working all day every day for free.

We serve all ages and breeds. We believe every dog deserves a chance at a warm, loving home every day of his life - and that new life starts with us!

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs are fostered in the Memphis area. We are happy to for you to come to Memphis and meet any of our dogs once you have an APPROVED adoption application on file. We unable to do meet and greets prior to adoption for anyone outside of Memphis, unless you are willing and able to travel to Memphis yourself.

Our Adoption Process...

The first step towards adopting a Woof River Animal Rescue pup is completing the adoption application! The application gives us background information necessary to select the best fit family for each dog and vice versa. We are excited to work with you to find your furry new family member! We take our job very seriously and want to do everything possible to ensure each and every dog will be with his adopted family for life.

We highly suggest submitting an application describing the type of dog you are looking for even if you don't see that particular dog on our adoptapet page. We don't have every dog posted at once. Also, there are hundreds of homeless dogs in this area so there is a large chance that just what you are searching for can be found.

We are all volunteers, but we also respect the time of our adopters. We try to have all applications processed in 5 business days or less. Once your application has been processed we will contact you. If you are approved, then we will send you the adoption contract, spay/neuter contract (for puppies under 6 months), transport information, and payment information. All adoption fees may be paid via PayPal, credit card, or debit card. All payments are handled securely through the PayPal site. However, you do not have to have a PayPal account to pay with credit or debit.

Adoption fees are $250 for Memphis, $300 for Nashville, and $450 for our Knoxville, Midwest, and New England. Adoption fees are a direct result of $250 local adoption fee plus cost of health certificate and transport.

Once the adoption is official, we put our adopters in touch with the foster parents. The foster parents are happy to talk with you about your dog's current routine and favorite things. This is priceless in helping you prepare for your new arrival!

In order to qualify for Woof River’s program all of the following steps must be met:

• You must be at least 18 years of age and be able to provide proof of age.
• Any current pets must be up to date on vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered. Exceptions to this will only be considered if proof of a medical explanation is provided.
• If you currently rent, you must provide a landlord’s phone number and a copy of your executed lease.
• All members of the family living in the home where the animal will be placed must agree be interviewed.
• If needed, you allow a Woof River representative into your home for a visit to insure that your home is safe for the potential new dog.
• Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for a pet.

Because we are a volunteer based organization, we receive hundreds of inquiries each day. We are unable to answer all questions until an adoption application has been received.
